i’ve seen the seasons pass
my eyes are fixed out a window
my gaze, they shatter the glass
it’s here i have wondered how
the time has come and gone so fast
i’ve smelled the flowers of spring
my nostrils tingled, lung-piercing cold
my inhales bring life to my being
it’s here that i’ve been told
that familiar smells will leave me reeling
i’ve tasted beyond my comfort
my teeth is sharp and cuts deep
my bites, they devour but won’t hurt
it’s here i learnt the rewards i’ll reap
flavours of cities, oh the memories i’ll keep
